Ring sizing

Whilst Chloe will do her absolute best to provide a ring of the right size the only way she can guarantee this is by going through a personal sizing and fitting procedure which requires her to take your size herself and check it fits prior to setting stones.

However, there are other ways to get the size (Ring sizing in more detail can be read here) :

  • Send a ring to Chloe that already fits the finger you need it for.

  • Get your fingers measured by a jeweller. Chloe Michell Jewellery uses the Wheatsheaf sizing and will cater for half sizes. Please state this to the jeweller sizing the finger. If only American or other sizing is available we can convert the size.

  • Provide Chloe with your size that you already know.

Other things to bear in mind: Thicker rings will need to be about half a size bigger than your original size. If your hands are hot or cold there may also be a half size difference from the original size.

Chloe will take every precaution to get a ring size right, and in cases where she hasn’t been able to size the ring herself, she will make the ring to the size of the clients request. If this information has been incorrect in any way and the ring does not fit due to incorrect size information you may be charged anything from a basic resize to the full remake of the ring. Please get in touch to discuss the best way to size your finger if you have any worries about this.

Remodel T&Cs

Chloe has a deep understanding that when working on a remodel project the jewellery being repurposed is more than likely to have a sentimental value to the owner. Therefore, upmost care is taken when working with these materials. Please read the rest of this section for terms and conditions.

Bullion refining will be carried out with the greatest care. Please be aware that during the refining process you can loose up to a quarter of the original weight in gold/silver. If there is a need to add additional material to the piece Chloe will contact you before this is done. Where this is necessary the carat of the metal will be taken into account to be kept in-line with Hallmarking standards.

Chloe holds no responsibility, other than that of loss, for working with a client’s stone. Due to the fact the history of the stone is unknown Chloe can not guarantee how sound it is and therefore will not be held responsible for damage and breakages. Any breakages due to the manufacturing process will be replaced/refunded by Chloe Michell.

Any materials not used are returned to the client in eco friendly packaging. Chloe does not currently offer a service where gemstones or gold scraps can be used towards payment for your items.

Personalisation

All records of requested original personalisation are kept on file so that if for any reason there is an error in your order it can be traced back to source. If Chloe has made an error the item will be replaced free of charge once the original item has been returned. If the client is at fault a full reorder and payment will be necessary.

Refund or exchanges cannot be given on custom or personalised orders.

Orders can be placed through any form or contact with Chloe Michell Jewellery.

For any custom orders Chloe will be as thorough as she can possibly be, so if you have any concerns at all please contact her via the website, email or telephone.

Payment policy

For bespoke commissions and jewellery remodels: once the design stage is complete Chloe will send you a contract and the full terms and conditions. Once these have been read and signed we expect 50% payment as a non refundable deposit and 50% payment on completion of the piece/s.

For made-to-order shop items, payment is expected in full before the piece is sent to you.

The following forms of payment are accepted: bank transfer, PayPal, direct via website, cash, cheque and card payments in person.

Delivery

All of the jewellery is handmade here in the workshop by Chloe. Some of the signature collection may be in stock, however it is likely the item will need to be made from scratch. This will mean an estimated delivery time of up to two weeks for these items. If for any reason this will be a longer period of time due to work load you will be contacted ASAP by Chloe to inform you of any change. This is likely during the Christmas period so consider getting your orders in with ample time.

Custom orders are aimed to be delivered in 2-4 weeks from order and payment.

If you require jewellery in a smaller time frame or for a specific date, please contact Chloe and this can be discussed further.

All orders will be sent via Royal Mail and a signature is usually required on delivery. Orders over £100 will be posted as special delivery.

International delivery is available on request.

Returns

Returns are only available for maker error and a 14 day period for the signature range. A credit note or immediate exchange will be provided. The jewellery on this website is considered as ‘made to order’ therefore doesn’t come under the consumer act for returns or refunds. Any refund or exchanges will be at the discretion of Chloe Michell.

Please read this article from the National Association of Jewellers for more information

All returned items must be provided in a wholly resalable condition in their packaging. The customer is fully liable for postage and delivery costs unless items are faulty or incorrect.
