Lorraine

This jewellery remodel took lorraine’s mothers rings and turned them in to a new and sparkly wedding ring. Loraine found me, as many have through word of mouth. We began with the inspiration from Sally’s ring and I then took the shapes of the diamonds and made the ring in that style.

Lorraine wanted a white gold ring, which I then got rhodium plated. Fun fact for you; White gold in its natural state is grey, a similar colour to silver, and it gets grayer as the carats (gold content) gets. Many main stream jewellery shops get the gold rhodium plated to give it that bright white colour. I always add this as an option for my clients but many opt to keep it unplated.

I brought white gold casting grain and made the wire and settings with that, i added the yellow gold granules to the ring which were made from the gold rings. Once the ring was made and the stones set I used stop out on the yellow gold granules to protect them in the plating solution so they kept their gold colour.
