When I first started on my remodelling journey one of my close friends asked me to remake her mothers ring for her back in 2018. Left from that were 5 little diamonds and some 18ct gold (first picture).

In 2021 her son got married so we took the rest of the materials left and used to it make the engaement ring. That band was made from silver and the gold used for the granulations with the diamonds set within. This ring has now been super important in 3 generations, and will continue to be passed down through the family. Who knows, maybe one day it will all be put back together in to one ring again.
